Clinic Service is Proud to Announce their Partnership with DrFirst™
(Denver, CO) Clinic Service Corporation (CSC), a medical billing and practice management firm, is proud to announce a partnership with DrFirst, a leader in stand-alone electronic prescribing. As a Meaningful Use ONC/ATCB Certified Partner, Clinic Service Corporation can provide a smooth transition of patient data to an electronic health record (EMR) while working with DrFirst’s Rcopia e-prescribing software.
“This partnership helps all sizes of medical practices with both transitioning to an EMR system and e-prescribing software,” said Michael Kuehn, Vice President of Sales. “We are excited as this partnership is the next step in providing a complete solution.”
Clinic Service’s software solution, C-Suite, was approved for meaningful use by The Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It was evaluated using regulatory criteria related to the efficiency, relevance, and security of patient health information. Medical professionals are assured compliance with continually changing regulations in the medical billing field.
Medical practices can also benefit from the practice management solution integrated with C-Suite software, assisting with increasing revenue in every aspect of the practice. With this feature, and the compliance of the Clinic Service’s software solution, C-Suite, the partnership between DrFirst and Clinic Service will provide benefits for both sides.
“We can give small practices more benefits in outsourcing medical billing than just billing. We know that medical practices today are looking for more complete solutions, and we are happy to provide them with these extra services,” said Kuehn.

Clinic Service C-Suite Electronic Health Record (EMR) solution is approved as a designated provider by the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO)
(Denver, CO November 10, 2011) Clinic Service Corporation (CSC), a medical billing and practice management firm, has been designated an approved provider for Electronic Heath Record solutions by the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO) for their Clinic Service C-Suite Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software solution.
In February 2010, CORHIO received federal grants for both Health Information Exchange and a Regional Extension Center for their commitment to proactively engage EHR vendors to better equip physicians in Colorado to make informed decisions about HIT products that would enable them to achieve meaningful use.
As a COHRIO approved EHR solution, Clinic Service was required to meet criteria in five core areas in the CORHIO/CO-REC review process: Corporate and Financial Strength, Competitive Pricing, Health Information Exchange (HIE) Connectivity, HL7 Messaging and Continuity of Care Document (CCD) Exchange.
In additional to interoperability requirements, CORHIO and CO-REC required that Clinic Service and other EHR vendors demonstrate a commitment to advancing EHR adoption to all physicians in Colorado, not limited to the providers eligible for Regional Extension Center (REC) services. As the stages of Meaningful Use progress over the next four years, CORHIO is committed to having 85% of all Colorado providers meaningfully using an EHR. Clinic Service Corporation received approval status based on a set of 10 technical integration points, interface availability and pricing, overall system pricing and current ONC-ATCB certification.
In May 2011, the Clinic Service C-Suite EHR received Meaningful Use Certification, a federal designation granted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. This certification means the software as a solution (SaaS) product meets all regulatory criteria relating to the efficiency, relevance, and security of patient health information utilized by medical professionals.
The primary benefit of utilizing the C-Suite EMR is in its ease of use. “From day one we wanted to create an EMR solution that is as easy to use as Yahoo,” said Andrew Graham, CEO of Clinic Service. We kept our focus on finding simple ways to help doctors capture the patient information they need, while at the same time embedding code to capture the data public health organizations want. The Meaningful Use designation means any medical professional using our system can be assured they have the tools to be compliant with ever-changing regulations.” The C-Suite EMR solution is also affordable. Medical practices use the solution on a unique “pay-per-use” basis, which allows any physician to begin using EMR software immediately. Our core business has always been ensuring physicians and medical office administrators can accelerate their workflow and maximize their profit by utilizing our back-office services,” Graham says. “We want doctors to stay focused on providing great medical care.”

Medical Practices Will Get Incentive or Penalty as Deadline Approaches for Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) ERx (Denver, CO June 24, 2011) The deadline for qualifying for the electronic-prescription (eRx) incentive monies and avoiding penalties from a medical professional’s Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) is June 30, 2011. At the end of June, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will stop considering the claims they receive from practices for eRx incentive and penalty payments to be rendered and imposed in 2012. Before the end of June, a practice must submit at least ten eRx using a CMS-qualified eRx service and report it to CMS to qualify for incentives of an additional 1% of the physician’s PFS. Penalties for not complying with the eRx criteria of the
Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (2008), or MIPPA, begin in 2012 at 1% of PFS and increase by half percent each year through 2014.
An eRx benefits doctors, payers, and patients by avoiding errors and cost associated with paper prescriptions by implementing IT; eRx facilitates better patient care also by enabling doctors to access insurance information and work with a patient’s out-of-pocket cost of drugs, offering therapeutically viable alternatives.
The eRx legislation resembles that of the electronic medical record (EMR), and though the applications are often incorporated, a doctor doesn’t need one in order to have the other: “Medical Practices don’t need to be using an EMR to avoid these penalties or qualify for the incentive,” says
Andrew Graham, CEO of Clinic Service. “Clinic Service is helping physicians start e-prescribing immediately so they can avoid losing thousands of dollars in penalties and qualify to get a 1% increase in reimbursement incentive payments.” To help practices better understand the eRx process and implications, Clinic Service recently posted an article on their website,
“ERx: An Overview of Incentives, Penalties, and Exemption.”
